Alvaro Saputi, Adriano’s son, takes over the management of the Cantina and puts many important changes in place to improve productivity, such as the commercial release of the first bottles of the Doc Rosso Piceno and Colli Maceratesi in 1985 – the white Colli Maceratesi will obtain the classification of Ribona, especially thanks to Alvaro’s constant effort and motivation. He was one of the first and major promoters of the idea to create a group of producers that work together to foster this indigenous vine type.
